Ok, sorry guys, but i need to get this clear in my head!
(sorry if this is the wrong place for this post, but i figured the tech details would be the difference!?)
So i checked the FAQ, its says 'coming soon'?, so i have to ask.
Whats the difference? ( classic models only, so not to confuse things even more.!)
OK so - please add your details to the post and cut and past the content again, if we get this right it can be used to go into the FAQ, to stop this painful process again?

scoobies si and tc,
the ej22 weighs less than the ej20, 22b pistnos weigh slightly more, but the non 22b block weighs more than the piston difference.
We are talking about a matter of grams.
there is also more to the 22b than just the engine. We have different wings, different track (6cm wider at the front 10cm at the back) different hubs, magnesium alloy 8.5 inch wide wheels.
quick rack steering, guaranteed closed deck block, hand assembled and seem welded.
With regard to 0-60 figures, please take them all with a pinch of salt.
The 22B came in two guises, UK (longer gearing) and JDM, 0-60 of the JDM should be quicker. Tests by driven on anders car which was standard but for a backbox yielded 3.8 seconds when repeated throughout the day.
I don't see how a 22B can be rated as having a slower 0-60 than a type r when it has more torque, more traction and weighs very slightly less. It should suggest that these figures shown are spurious.
I remember stef getting a 4 sec 0-60 in an almost standard UK car.

did quite of bit of research into all the classic models when bought my type r last month, espcailly the version 6 type r limited, 22b and p1 as i reckoned these were the best of the classic bunch? found some interesting stuff, such as the later versions sti5 and 6 were found to produce more power and more torque then the ealier 22b...
more info about sti's and other models here... http://www.iwoc.co.uk/22b.html
As things move on though, it was surprising to see at an IWOC dyno day that the latest STi version 5 put out as much power (and more) with the same low down torque as the 22B....

Ive driven a 22B on track and i didnt enjoy it at all which is the reason i opted for the type R.Clutch is awful on 22B and the steering was too twitchy for my liking but each to their own eh,22B doesnt justify an extra 15k of anyones money exclusive or not
