How many miles to a tank?
#1
Just reading another thread and started thinking about fuel figures?
MY02 WRX
150 miles to halfway on the gauge, 250 miles to redlight.
Normally get 48 litres in the 60 litre tank
Did 330 miles once and got 56 - 57 litres in?
Any comments?
How sad am I?

Eeked out 347, Thursday last week, Tonbridge to Cromer and back.
bottled out on going any further as it was flashing and i could see a Shell garage. On Filling up went to 56litres with fuel up to the cap.
Very steady (read boring) driving in an '02 WRX.

ooohh arent you lucky? having a low fuel light, jdm dont have them so the most I've ever done on a tank is 230 miles the needle was on the bottom of the white E and took 48.7 ltrs to fill till it stopped so I guess I cut that pretty close

Their not that bad on fuel really. I did panick when I first got it and the light came on at 250miles but, realised the tank was not really empty when I filled up.
I really notice the difference in economy between long journeys and round town though, luckily Im a bog trotter so don't have it as bad as the poor old city folk!

There must be something wrong with my fuel tank cos if I can reach 200 miles between fill-ups, I'm doing well! (STi 8PPP)
Krade,
You still had 11 litres left so plenty life in the old dog!

Talizman, you obviously have a lead foot
Think yourselves lucky, last march I did a 3500 mile trip to Italy and back in an EVO 5 with its patheticly sized tank and low MPG.
Mind you, only took 17 hours to go from Milan to Lancaster, including hanging about for the ferry.

In my MY01 WRX, the most I ever got was 310 miles to a tank.... and that was on a trip through Wales at very sedate speeds (GF and dog in car). Average was about 250.
My MY03 WRX averages 280 per tank, I get 300+ on motorway runs even with speeds varying from 60-100 MPH. Best so far is 347..... and I wasn't hanging about either.
On both the light comes on when I've got about 30 miles left, and I've never managed to get more than 56 litres in either, even when kangarooing the car into the petrol station (not advisable). I think that last 4/5 litres is for ballast or something

Average of 210 per full tank from light on 'till full. About 55 litres is most I've had in. Thats with 'nervously' driving 20 miles with the light on trying to limp into the next Shell station!

I assume Krade has a 50 litre tank then?
According to SIDC, all cars came with a 60 litre tank, however there is small print at bottom of page querying whether pre96 cars had a 50 litre tank.....

Haven't had my car for a while but its a UK MY00 and in standard form I got 300 out of a tank of optimax. I think now with the de-cat zorst I'm only going to get about 260. I'm a bit miffed that the zorst seems to have dropped the mpg so badly and its what put me off getting an atmos DV as they can make mpg even worse apparently.
Its not all bad as I don't actually drive that far week to week and I've only filled her up 3 times and I've had the car since 5th October.

Why drive an Impreza and then worry about fuel consumption, if its an issue buy a diesel.
My Silver MY03 WRX 120 miles to half a tank 190 miles to vapour only.

MY01WRX wagon
un-modded
Never more than 190 miles, then usually get 48-49 litres in.
2/3 of my driving is around Birmingham within the speed limit. The other 1/3 is emergency response driving, so usually 5-6000 rpm, can almost see the needle plunge down into the red

Not all of us have got money to burn, that's why. The mix of half decent fuel economy and blazing performance is what most of us are looking for.
I earn reasonable money but have two teenage children and a recently acquired expensive divorce. The scoob keeps me sane...its just nice to be able to push 30mpg now and again.
Best ever tank full was 330. MY99 Turbo.

Just worked out a quick trip I did from Bristol to Southampton last week after first getting my STi8 (standard) ... clocked out 162 miles using £22 of fuel in the process -> 27mpg. The words Nun and nervous spring to mind for the bulk of that trip mind you (95% A-roads, 5% motorway)
Speaking of mpg in general, I bought the Scoob to *save* money, and it is. My previous car/tank clocked a mighty 13mpg, and that was on a motorway cruise
Some people just don't know what a true thirsty car is

MY00,
Full decat,Ecutek remap,Uprated fuel pump
I get between 300-310 out of every tank, that's with two different drivers and a mixture of town/motorway.
Can't really grumble at that.
