Am I really doing something wrong or do I panic when the warning light go on. My MY00 hs never read above 280 on a tank and that was after the light went on. I thought I had about a gallon left so rough guess 20 miles to find a garage, pref Shell but when I get worried £5 of anything put in to last. Do I bottle out to early on the refil? PS put £40-42 to fill her up

Never got near the Subaru combined figure of nearly 32mpg in my 03WRX PPP - could be the PPP but was told if you go steady that PPP makes the car run more efficiently?

When you do 40k miles per year then the diference between a budgeted 30mpg and 24 - 25(sub 20 when knocking about) bearing in mind usually 80% steady motorway driving is a bit of a piser but never mind the car is a top motor but better as a low miler.

Wink

Average 240-250 miles per 50 litres in my STi5 RA. I dont drive like a **** on the road though.

On track, 60-70 miles per 50 litres.

Cool

Based on Optimax usage:

The STI used to get approx 230-250 to a tank.

The P1 gets about 250-270 to a tank.

The MY00 turbo wagon used to get 250-280 - However - the Golf TDI (bought to replace the wagon for Mon-Fri) gets approximately 550 miles to a tank - but not so much fun

Am I mad then.. on the back of my 97 turbo's manual it says the tanks 60 litres.. If I have a low fuel light on my car then it's bust because it never lights up.. mine does about 310 miles on average combined A road, B road and the odd motorway trip before she starts spluttering going round corners.. and even then it only takes 57 litres...
