my STi8 was vandalised in Teignmouth on Thursday night. I was visiting relations during my week away in Devon, I was advised by my Uncle not to park in the pub car park as it was a stormy night and the sea comes over the car park wall, instead I parked in a well lit street with plenty of other cars.
On returning to my car after a nice evening I found two doors had been kicked in (one so much I can't even open it) the back panel where the petrol door is so that doesn't shut properly, drivers window scratched badly, back bumper dented and scratched.
I have read on here several times about this happening and I now know how those people feel.
All this is probably going to cost in the region of £2500 - £3000 to fix all because of some jealous, mindless, ignorant scumbags.

I can never ever understand what people get out of doing this Why wreck someones pride and joy? I have people that I hate with a passion (sisters ex's) but I couldn't bring myself to do anything like this.

The strange thing is that these B@stards were so jealous of your car that they felt the need to do this. Jealousy, in this country it's a strange phenonenom that it manifests itself in too many people as violent acts or abuse.
In the States they have a much more relaxed approach and kids are taught not to be jealous but to be envious and to strive for the things they want. I'm not saying that its as clear cut than that but i am saying that the whole ethos around "if i cant have it" attitude is all wrong in this country.
Small comfort for you though mate, the only thing i can suggest is don't keep looking at it and get it in the garage asap

Think you have hit the nail on the head there Buzzer, just made me feel sick to the stomach.
This car is my pride and joy and I love driving it around but at the moment its damaged and it just feels so dirty.
Still thats why I pay to have protected NCD's hopefully it won't be too long before its back to its wonderful self, will still be taking it to the Flat Four meet at the Dick Turpin on Thursday.

and I was starting to think it was something I'd done personally to Devon ...
I'm from Essex and often drive down to Exeter to see a friend, she lives 5 mins from the centre of the town in a well lit street opposite a YMCA type place ...
TWICE now I have had my car vandalised during the night .. first time they contented themselves with bending the aerial and, for some weird reason pulling the windscreen wipers up .. the next time the little charmers decided to go one better and smashed the passenger side window ... (luckily the alarm prevented them from nicking the 500 quid stereo ..)
I live in Essex which is famed for yobbos, I find Devonshire to be infinitely worse .. Essex people tend to leave people alone so long as they don't get aggressive with them, the Devon lot seem to be sneaky f*ckers who prefer to do things when there is little or no chance of getting any sort of retribution for their antics ...

i would certainly do as Krade say's. You need to take your mind away from thinking you have a "none perfect scoob" and getting a full de-cat will almost certainly bring the grin factor back into your life.
Go on treat yourself, you know it makes sense
