Anyone else going to the Monaco Grand Prix this year?
I'm setting off this Saturday and driving down via France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
Would love to meet up with anyone from the BBS for a few beers whilst I'm there.

Hi Andrew,
I'm going on the 2nd June using the easier option of EasyJet from Liverpool.
I'm going with a colleague from work for the grand prix and our wives are going to soak up some sun.
Staying in Beaulieu-sur-mer for 4 nights.
Where are your tickets for the race?
Kevin.

Kevin,
My tickets are for Pelouses Rocher, one of the standing areas.
I'm staying in Menton on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is the other side of Monaco from where you are staying.
As I've not been to Monaco before I'm not very well up on the layout of the area to suggest a meeting place. If you are going to the qualifying on the Saturday this may be a more suitable time to meet.

I went last year courtesy of easy jet, but I noticed the fares are considerably higher this year when I looked at their website in early Feb.
I reckon easyjet wised up to the demand on GP weekend this year and racked up the prices acccordingly.
I didnt book but now Im wishing I had.
How many hours to drive down from London do you reckon?

Zoog,
According to the Shell Geostar route planner it would take about 16 hours to drive to Monaco from London.
I've made sure my route takes me round plenty of mountain roads in the Alps. No point in having a Scooby and then going via the sensible route

Andrew,
my tickets are for stand E, which is the narrow tall one at the exit of the tunnel by the chicane.
if you have not been before you will find it is like no other circuit, you cannot walk around looking at different vewing points, you are confined to where your ticket enclosure is. To get to stand E you have to get a 'boat' across the harbour and you are pretty much stuck there all day, you can't get the boat if you don't have a ticket.
even though the cars can only use a small fraction of their performance, Monaco is simply stunning to see F1 so close up. The noise is something you will never forget bouncing off all the tower blocks.
you should go back to monaco on the saturday evening and hang around casino square. You will have never seen so much wealth, supercars and posing in your life. Old decrepid blokes with supermodel bimbo's on their arms.
can't wait to get there!
by the way, if you are not doing all ready, get the train into monaco, don't even attemt to drive in. You can drive the full cicuit in the evenings but it is normally gridlock, unless you go after midnight.
if you want to swap numbers you can e-mail me.
enjoy it,
Kevin.
