Has anyone managed to change plugs??? They are difficult to see, let alone get at??!!
Is there a special tool.......
(this is a serious question, not cynicysm - blimey that doesn't look like it's spelt right..)

I done it - on my EJ25 Impreza rs. You can use a T-handle socket wrenchy-thingy, but basically you have to take the battery and the washer bottle out. There might be an access hole in the wheel well, but I didn't look. My old SVX had the hole, but it (as you know) was a H6. Either way, it takes while. Don't go cheap on the plugs, as once you've change them, you will try to maximize the interval 'til the next swap.If you can get Bosch +4 plugs there - that's a good bet , and they last for...ever, basically.
The intake box has to come out as well, and you should be able to reach evertything with a universal joint adapter and a long socket. use anti-seize on the plug threads, and don't leave them loose - don't strip the treads, either, but a loose plug WILL make you lose your mind , as you re-dismantle everything.

Just changed the plugs on the wifes Legacy after X No. of missed services! use the nice toolkit supplied - wheel nut socket fits end of plug spanner. Plugs were perfect - nice light browny / grey.
