laser test/group buy on LRC 100
#2
I would be interested. We need to get these tested, I have had my Snooper go off and reported that I had been targeted by laser, but LRC100 did not blink.
I think Phil Stephens had problems with his - ie it did not work, we need to get these tested, if not we could be wasting our money. We also do not need a race circuit, just an industrial estate on a Sunday morning.

Without putting a spanner in the works folks, starting to hear off a whole load off these things being sent back, dont know who supplied them origianlly ?? poss faulty batch ?? but sure it was possibly on sidcc site that I read off the others experiencing probs with these things ?? may just be the setting up off them needing tweeked ?? but as a non owner at the moment off one, would want to know more before parting with the cash first !! also as not all off us live near a testing ground !! would never know if my one was set up properly ?? possibly until too late!! as it is becomming obvious that a L-O-T off these things, do require almost (critical ??) set up ??
regarding the snooper, giving you warning off a laser trap against the lrc100, wonder what model off snooper it was ??
cheers,
john..
ps. anyone use one off them stand alone blackspot laser warning things - £99, any better than a combined radar / laser detector ?? trealie that they are limited in there detection ?? but any actual user comments ??

Might speak to K300 and see if he will test ours, or else we need to have them tested as a group, get 10 people and its only a tenner.
Jono it was a Snooper 6LR or something like that, the latest one with radar and alser detector which fits to your windscreen. It may have been a false alarm, but would like to be sure.
RayC can we start a list -

Alarm bells are ringing!
I bought one in the group buy and had it professionally fitted. It chirps twice as advertised when turned on, and as far as I am aware there is no tweaking or setting up possible except for ensuring it's absolutely level?
Typically, since I've had it all the safety camera vans seem to have gone on holiday, but I passed one the other day that Scoobynetters in Hull will know well- A63 Clive Sully way westbound. I was in the outside lane 40-45 (40 limit) starting to accelerate as the national speed limit signs appear a few hundred yards ahead. (It's a favourite place for the b****rds as most drivers start to accelerate when they see the signs, then zap- 60 quid for the coffers please)!
I spotted the white van and eased off, I'm in a high performance car with a personalised plate, not boxed in behind anybody else, and I could actually see the guy sat in the van behind the equipment.
Not a peep from the LRC100..... I was suprised and concluded that either the guy was still setting it up/eating his sarnies/ pointing it at someone else- or my unit doesn't work!
We all need to get these tested ASAP!! Reading is a bit far south but I am interested in anything a bit closer

i went passed a van too and not a peep
apparantly its upto the operators discretion to fire the laser, however mine is malfunctioning as it emits a constant high pitched whine and the LED glows dimly all the time so it has to go back

All sounds a bit worrying to me ?? !! hope the police have not moved the goalposts again, and managed to make these things worthless ??!! ie. possibly set up another freq type thing to send out the laser signal ?? it can / will happen the more press publicity these things get- am sure off it ?? its allready happening witin the usa with laser jammers etc. and incase anyone missed my other post regarding these laser camera vans ?? was advised by an actual operator off these things the other day that there new van mounted laser cameras are only giving out around 12 inches off stray scatter - gulp !! also that these new cameras have a warning signal to alert the operator off possible jamming devices being used against them ??!!
so with only 12 inches off scatter, and obviously pin point accuracy would think that the placing off these units around the number plate area would be almost critical for them to work at all ?? just a thought ?? surely all lrc100`s cant be deffective ??
anyone from the group buy have succuss with theres ??
strange thats all the test reviews, etc all has very good achieved results ??
john..
p.s will be possibly looking for an lrc100 / sld920 at a cheap price ( very, very cheap price if they dont work though !!! ) provided all this mess ??!! gets cleaned up ?? !!
cheers,
john..

i know mine works on mobile-plod laser. when i say works, i mean goes off and i didn't get pulled at 55 in a 40.
i will get the list of mobile cameras in my area for the next 2 weeks and go van hunting. in the meantime, i'm still up for group test.

Got mine connected directly to an Origin b2.
With this unit you set it so that you only get a warning above a user specified programmable spead. Got mine set for the speed limits - 30mph for non-motorway / 70mph for motorway driving. Consequently, all the usual tests (TV remotes, camera flash etc) are worthless - no warning.
I would certainly be interested in testing the unit. It is a long drive from Devon, but for the peace of mind would be worth it.
Cheers
Simon

Add your name for a Laser gun test, if we get 10, should be around £10

Only a suggestion, £40 doesn't seem bad and they are prepared to help you set it up right if you've made a hash.
There is a slim possibility of a jammer test in the Preston region, but only a slim chance and thats if the proceeds go to charity. Need some ideas on numbers though, would any body be interested.
