Exclamation

I have a mate who has unfortunately pranged his 22b.

He needs a front wheel, bumper (22b one of course), and bonnet.
He obviously wants to keep the car as original as poss.

He's shopped around but so far come up with jack. Parts are like hen's teeth.

Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers

Rich

bonnet is standard and like any other,

tim bomford may well still have a wheel for sale. failing that he could switch to other wheel types.

Bonnet is more difficult.

We've already suggested TSL and Scoobymania over on 22b.com
Paul G would be a good guy to speak to directly as he's done lots of investigation in the past. OEM Import parts are a nightmare to get hold of , recall the one written off a year ago after a low speed front impact as the insurers weren't happy with the idea that sourcing parts could've taken months.
Listers have sold and resold the most UK 22B's so they are also a good garage to approach, Barrats Motorsport in Canterbury also v good...I'd help but I don't want my 'card marked' as a UK owner....sorry.

Rich,

Depends how badly damaged the bumper and bonnet are. I have previously used a mate of mine to repair a 22B that had a prang. The car look great once finished, and used no parts, just lots of talent, to get right. The bumper shouldn't be a problem to fix.

Getting hold of a new aluminium bonnet might be a little more difficult, but might the current one be repairable? I'd always recommend getting a new (undamaged) bonnet as stretched aluminium is fairly difficult to work with and get 100% right.

You can mail me if you want to know more

Cheers
Matt

We might mould a few bumpers if any body wants them.. it's easy enough to do.

Could be nice in GRP.. if properly moulded and painted almost impossible to tell from original.

I still run round with a "fake" front end. that way if i get a little prang, no worries

Thanks for your help guys.

Ally bonnets for the 97-00 are quite hard to get hold of I know.

Adam, I'll find out which side the wheel is and get hold of Tim, I've got his address somewhere.

I'll speak to him and see if the bonnet/bumper are repairable, but I doubt it.

I'll give him all the info anyway.

Cheers

Rich

Just spoken to him.

The bumper is toast, smashed to bits. His wing and bonnet are creased but may be repairable.

Tried to mail Tim, but it came back, must have changed address.

Can anyone contact him for me please?

Cheers

Rich

the wings are like foil, most likely if its creased itll need replacing, I was appalled at how flimsy they are when I saw one pranged

Rich,

It was originally front left on my car.
I have an original Drivers side front wing as well

Probably of no interest but I have a Carbon Front Bumper off one of the Rally Cars. A bit scabby but could be cleaned up and painted. It probably wouldn't fit

I also needed a bumper for my B a week ago but managed to repair my own, I did however find a very slightly damaged one for sale at Graham Goode, I was going to buy it as a spare but the freight to South Africa is ridiculous. It is still available.

Phone Wayne on 116 244 0080, say Darren put you on to him.
