Unhappy

Hey folks I think me and a few others got caught speeding on Sunday coming back from the jap show . We were all on the motorway doing 80-85 mph and we saw 3 cameras pointing down on the road from a bridge above one for each lane. Noones snooper detected them so im hoping that it was just a tax ticket camera, but if it was a speed camera then how long generally is it before you get a ticket posted through your door. I know that if you havent got one within 2 weeks then your safe but 2 weeks has never felt sooooo long.

Cheers Marx

14 days for a NIP althought there are mitigating circumstances ie if it is a hire car or newly registered to yourself..

TBH 80-85mph on the M'Way wouldbe touch and go on the points front...

On the M1 northbound bout 4.30ish a few junctions b4 leicster forest services . They didnt really look like a speed camera, they looked like they were on tripods pointing at the m/way. Cant be more specific didnt get a good look

One per lane, or just one over the outside lane? If it was just one, it sounds very much like it was a laser speed trap. However, I think you'd be very unlucky to get done if you were only doing an speedo indicated 80-85MPH. In reality, this means that you were probably only travelling at 75-80MPH (unless you car has oversized wheels/tyres), and most (not all!) police forces would not prosecute below ~79MPH (+10% +2MPH). I guess you'll have to wait and see. Very annoying as I bet is was a relatively clear m/way with good weather and visibility, they never set up these traps when it's pi55ing down!

Sorry, didn't mean to prolong the agony, but I did the same on the M6, doing an indicated 90 in my Sunny GTi, and didn't get done, so I think you'll probably be ok.

Check out www.pepipoo.co.uk for lots of interesting info on speed cameras etc. (I say interesting, but I guess it's all relative!). Sorry, don't know how to make a 'clicky'
