Unhappy

My car is stuck in Tesco's car park and my key fob will not turn off the alarm or deactivate the immobiliser, but when I press the button the light on the fob flashes so don't think it is a key battery problem. Does anyone have any ideas on how to start the car??

Also, I dont have my Subaru Assistance card, does anyone have the number I need to ring to call someone out to look at the car?

Cheers

Si

A stab in the dark but are you parked near any mobile masts?

could be worth pushing it accross the car park in case a mast is affecting it.

Let yourself in with the key, the alarm will go off, then put the key in, and then push the car to the other end of the car park, don't worry about the alarm going off, no-one takes any notice anyway, then, remove the key, lock the car, and re-open.

Beacause the light on the keyfob flahes, it does not mean the battery is knackered.

If the battery is almost dead, the light will still flash, but the range at which it will work is reduced and the weak signal is more easily messed up by interferance. Try it from the passenger side or over the bonnet.

Car now recovered.

Thanks very much for all of the helpful suggestion's. Boro hit the nail on the head right away, cheers mate

Went back to the car park opened the door with the key, took off handbrake and rolled the car backwards 15 feet and the key fob worked properly. Car is now safely tucked up at home!

Thanks again guys.

Glad to be of help... Book your car into your dealer for the "freebie" shield that helps protect from the interference
