Where did you buy that from if you don't mind me asking and how much was it?

Damian.

Just seen your response (must have crossed with my posting).

So is yours a twin scroll turbo scoob?

I had a Fujitsubo on my Evo. 3" all the way through to a 5" tailpipe. Lovely piece of kit. Pricey though but lovely quality. Sounded relatively normal up to about 4K revs than BLAM!

There was a place in UK who had them on their website. I can try and dig the company out if anyone wants. They were about 6-700 nicker I think (no controller though)

just got a fujitsubo exhaust fitted to my STi8 today and it is slammin'...

the "in-car" interface is a little fine tuned for my liking but it looks good in red LED. you can program the percetage output from 0-100% and the alternative is using auto. for me it's either auto or 100%, i don't think I could tell the difference between 23% and 24%

at idle it is fairly quite and not much up from the standard STi exhaust but there must be at least a few bhp increase. i've only taken it up to 5000rpm so far but it sounds very sweet.

early days yet but the feel of the car has changed somewhat (more vibration). driving home tonight and on a stretch of road where I would normally be in 5th, I was cruising in 4th quite comfortably.

Question

So what is the purpose of the controller? Is this to adjust the volume of the exhaust or just flow characteristics.

hey thanks for that AJbase, saves me a lot of explaining with those nice pictures. To tell you the truth the picture of the exhaust on the STi does not do it justice at all. In real it's a work of art because the hand finished craftsmanship has to be seen to be believed as it is that good (makes the standard exhaust look like a corolla's).

Fatz, i'm based on Hong Kong and got it through the Fujitsubo agent here. I've got the manual but it's all in Japanese and my Japanese is zero), however the agent is working on the English translation and I will try to get you some info when it's ready (have noted your email)

Doc, it's really a bit of both, but I would definitely place more emphasis on the conrtoller influencing the exhaust flow characteristics rather then being a volume button when passing the cops (but sounds ******* really nice and loud at 100%!GROOOOOOWWWWWLLLL...woooohooooooo....LOL)

no worries, I paid an arm and an leg for it HK$8800 (that's 700 quid). but I'm sure an exhaust specialist in the UK will be able to get you information on pricing and fitting and also most certainly cheaper than pricing in HK. it's a piece of cake to install as everything fits exactly into place but the controller has to be put in by someone who knows what they're doing (looked really complicated). I'm quite pleased with deciding to place the controller above the IC spray buttons as it is pefectly positioned for pressing the buttons.

don't know about twin scroll, it's the Japanese spec STi8 (GDB)

If it's the latest MY2003 Sti, then it's twin-scroll.
Hong Kong have always got JDM Subarus.
Btw, I doubt u can get that exhaust cheaper in the UK.
