Thumbs up

Hi all,

well I've had my 3000 GT for a couple of months now & tried to follow a P1 last night for a laugh. I was very impressed with the power & handling of the P1. He didn't murder me on the straight, but pulled about 20 yards out of me by the time we hit 4th gear from a rolling start.

I flashed the guy & he stopped for a chat etc, it was a standard 280bhp it was very quick
My last scoob made 280bhp & 1285kg's, but it just goes to show that it's not just about the power eh ?

First time I've been up against 1.

Thats interesting. I'd have thought once you had got into the higher MPH figures the Maserati would have murdered a P1.
I've always fancied a maserati - a traditional muscle car

Gastro - I have a Mitsu 3000 GT unfortunatly & NOT a Maserati 3200 GT.....
I do like those Maserati's but there not everyones taste.

What made it different last night was the fact we ended up having a chat for about 30 mins at the roadside discussing both motors. he originally wanted an Evo but was put off with the servicing costs.
He only paid 15k for the P1 as well on an 2000 X plate, but with highish motorway miles on. Ex company directors car.

shunty, always like the 3000, just always afraid of the electrical gremlins these cars seem to get tagged with, hows yours been on the electrical side?

Pity it wasn't an EVO 8 FQ, you would have been more than impressed. Don't get me wrong the P1 is a very nice car, I nearly took the plunge myself but the EVO is in a different league. And yes I have have had 2 impreza turbos before MY98 and MY01ppp.

But the P1 was half the price! As you say, a different league.

At the end of the day you both enjoyed that little blip and thats what is nice about the fact...

Some people take the little chat after funny sometimes. ScoobyKev was telling me about a porche he blew off that stopped to chat after saying that he didnt really push the car to which his mate quipped "Yes you were you liar - you red lined every gear"...funny how people feel when spending 40/50K on a car then get whopped by a 17K car?? Strange...i thought he just be happy with the Blip they had..

Hi Andy,
yes I have heard about the electrics...sshh..everythings working fine
Mine in FMSH which I checked out, so hopefully that'l make the difference.

Hey Kane, know exactly what you mean. It wouldn't bother me if I got beat (as long as it's not a BMW though).....some nos'd Nove/Astra somewhere is just waiting to give me a whooping on the straight line somewhere..just a matter of time
