All,
Unity Media Plc is producing a magazine to not only replace CCC but to completely revitilise the race car magazine market! Say hello to:
Track & Race Cars Magazine.
Featuring track tested race cars, timed track stars and in-depth technical insights on the motorsport industry. We've got massive plans to cover plenty of the UKs National motorsport championships, too.
It's a monthly magazine that is on sale for £3.75 (tbc) on the second Thursday in January. Available in WH Smiths and all quality newsagents.
Anything you'd like to see in the magazine? Then post it here with comments and questions.

Sounds like a good mag.
I'd like to see profiles of clubman race championships, from first-time friendly to the more advanced.
The best bit would be to have a reputable driver actually competing to get a flavour of the racing.
Why not start with he MG Metro Cup (www.mgmetrocup.co.uk) for a taste of novice friendly competition....
cheers,
dela

I'd like to see an article on the same driver in the same car, but different mods being driven flat out around a track. This can then help to compare how much track time particular mods shave off.
Look forward to the publication.

Having done over 400 trackdays at UK and European circuits I have seen a massive increase in the trackday community...people who initially used their road cars to eventually buying a dedicated track car.....professional race car drivers who gave racing up for cost , sponsorship and limited driving to find themselves becoming trackday nuts themselves finding that it was a fraction of the cost and they achieved 10 times more driving thus allowing them to continue their passion for circuit driving
So......
How about letting me be the mags Mr Trackday Guru...i.e; Each month we review a particular track and explain it's braking points, turn in's, apex, straights, good and the bads...etc...along with basic requirements and facilities at each track etc...along with expected times for various cars, standard and modded....what modifications are worthwhile blah...blah...blah...readers can write in asking Mr Trackday Guru questions a plenty with regards to trackdays etc.....
Just a thought

Thanks for the comments so far.
Real cars being tested with our own GPS timing gear at one location and with one driver. The no-bull approach will be taken with facts that will stand head and shoulders above any biased Journo opinion.
Products/tests will be used with the GPS timing gear and one driver where possible so we once again get facts rather than opinion.

Mellow Yellow,
Thanks for the offer, I'd like to get your views in the mag. I've raced cars since I was 16 (karts before that for 6 years) so I've got a strong background on the motorsport community and totally understand why racing drivers who spend THEIR OWN money on championship campaigns end up doing track days.
You can email me at kwood@unity-media.com

Plenty of rallying stuff - cars - technical - perhaps some clubman championship coverage (Not too much WRC / Rally of Cardiff - Sorry I mean Rally GB - too comercialised(SP) now).
After all, i don't think there is anyone on here who doesn't have a bit of soft spot for a good old RALLY SLAG!

A servicing section (pics and how to's, reccomended fluids etc.) on popular performance cars would be nice, kinda like a Car Mecahnics mag but more specific to hi-po stuff, Impreza Turbo, Mitsu Evo, Pug/Golf Gtis etc

would like to see beginers guides:
for example last year I started using my Impreza to compete at sprints and a simple "what you need to get/buy/do" guide would be useful and help people get a foot in the door of motorsport.
As it was I just had to get myself the right overalls, crash helmet, licence, timing strip etc - sounds simple but a guide to this would have been really useful and interesting to see.
Im now back in the same position, going to do some sprints AND now hillclimbs in the car - but dont know exactly what Ill need for the hillclimbs.
Im sure you could find a "muppet" to follow for the day(sorry I mean first timer ) you could do my first: hillclimb, sprint, track day etc etc
