First Impreza
#1
Hey Guys, just joined, looks like you've got a nice site going on here, Looking to buy my first impreza in a few months, after a UK Spec jobbie 4x4 2.0 Turbo. Got about £5-6k to spend so hopefully should be able to get something
Have to wait till I'm 21 though buggers won't insure me at the moment anyone giving me an advice on buying an impreza then

Only other thing maybe worth pointing out, is that if they won't insure you at all ATM, are you prepared to cover the premium when they decide they will insure you?

I'm considering an Impreza Wagon and have a budget of £6K too. I've seen quite a few UK facelift P and R reg cars with FSSH but 90K to 100K miles for about that. Scoobs seem to wear miles well so 100K doesn't bother me but I'm not interested in the 130+ jobs around. I know there are issues with some suffering from piston slap so have to be careful. Not bothered about tuning too much as the Wagon is a compromise for me anyway (family man) so don't intend going mad with it.

i'm 21 in february, so hopefully not long now, i've got a 106 at the moment, haven't really looked into insurance at the moment though I have no points never made a claim and in december i get 3 years no claims (a 16v nova project went a bit wrong and couldn't finish it so I canceled a policy half way through losing me the 4th years no claims I should have had. I'll probably be looking at around £1100 fully comp form some of the quotes I've got, considering all me mates will be pottering around in puntos and R5s to me, thats a good insurance quote. Thats only through tesco, i will try some other companys first obviously see if I can get it down to £850 - £900

Try Direct Line. I got my first Scoob in September, 03 STi type uk
My insurance is £780, then again I have got full no claims and am female and over 30 (just!!) but also have points for speeding.
I had a problem getting insured as I have never driven a high performance car. I had a 206Gti which I traded in for the STi.

i'd agree charlie WRXSTI, give direct line a try, i'm 22 with classic WRX import paying £1300, tesco wanted to charge me £1700, i've had a lot of problems with trying to get insurance with mods.
