Top speed please.....?

Sorry to ask such an unimportant question!
But, I'm going to ask anyway.
The top speed of my sti 8 is a round 150mph, true ?.
What difference if any, does the prodrive pack make to the top speed ?.
Even a theoretical answer will do.
Kn#bs need not reply.
cheers

Find out how fast your car is going in 5th gear at 1000 rpm and times it by 7 assuming your rev limit is 7000rpm.
Crude but it won't be far off.
Do 8's have 6 gears? i can't remember If this is the case then you'll have to adjust the method accordingly.

Would ppp actually change max speed? Assuming that you can hit the rev limiter in top gear on a non ppp then the top speed can only be more on a ppp if the rev limit is upped i assume?

Non PPP STi 8 on the german autobahn and i got to the magic 160MPH. Not sure how much you take off for error in speedo though.
Have a piccy of the speedo at 157 MPH for you doubters as well, other half only got the rev counter at 160

I seam to recall, On german road my STi7PPP 5th gear near Rev limit at around 147 mph and 6th speed limiter at 160mph ish (indicated speeds)
I agree with these speeds are too excessive on the roads but it was a very quiet Autobahn and shut off to sensible speeds as soon as goal was achieve
Fastest on track was Nurburg ring final straight(155) next Silverstone(140) and next Bedford(135). this was going by memory and Revs so not very accurate toooo busy looking at approacing corner to look at Speedo on the final two and memory of a goldfish

Mike, did you have problems with the front offside tyre whilst testing at Millbrook? I've had sidewall failures on two STI's that I've tested there (after 3-4 laps at VMAX). J

We tend not to hold it on for so long. The PPP STi hits the limiter by the bridge as you start the second lap. After that point I back off as it's not proving anything as you'd already found what v-max is.

I tend to have to hold max for a couple of laps to get a solid average (the speed tends to vary by about 6 or 7 mph depending on direction), so the tyres are a bit of a concern. Will be fitting some V-rated items before I test again.
