Ok Ok, I've had the MY01 WRX for two months now, and I've been happily seeking out Shell stations to get my optimax fix. And yes I am getting 34 MPG most days of the week - mainly by being very dull sticking to the inside lane and just letting the badge do it's work rather than proving it too often. But then doing 40K PA in a WRX means you have to keep it sensible if I wanna do the same next year.
The Question - What can I use when I can't find optimax. And I'm thinking more along the lines of standard unleaded and some booster rather than just super as thats not always so easy to find either(petrol stations aren't too common in wales). Have got the RAC coming up for three days and a trip to France so I need to get this sorted.

BP are bringing out an new 100 octane soon(but i dont know when)
You can also check on the shell website to see if there are any stations near to where you will be
