Anyone else using a Garmin GPS (I have a new StreetPilot) with a classic Scoob? I was warned of satellite pick up probs with BMW windscreens but not Subarus. Never heard of anyone having trouble with Road Angel etc

We have routed to South of France and it wants to take us through the centre of Paris..anyone, off list, know how I can change it's mind

Thanks

Don't know anything about them but can't you pick other destination on a more direct route and then when you get there chhoose your original destination and let it work out a route from there, can you pick 'waypoints' if so then pick one away from Paris . ...just an idea..

Have used Garmin handheld, Road Angel and Globalsat Bluetooth GPS from inside my '03WRX with no problems.

Use iPAQ with TomTom Navigator 2...nice solution

"..in foreign" ???

You should try to read the signs here in Japan

E.g. –¼ŒÃ‰® = Nagoya !

I use a Garmin 196 and it works fine. This unit has turn by turn nav and the default map covers the whole of Europe in low resolution (main roads only). You can load his res maps (detail down to house number/post code of all roads) onto memory cards that go into the GPS. 64 meg covers an entire country at this resolution.

Accuracy is good enough to show which lane of the M25 you are in!!

Brit - appears OK if you select Japanese (Shift-JIS) as the encoding.
