Group Buy on Laser Diffusers
#1
I have an LRC100 fitted to the front of the car. Install was quite tricky getting the brackets together and stabilised so that the laser head was perfectly level. Didnt take more than an hour or so though.
Testing it is a different matter. In the instruction manual they say try a number of remote controls as they "should" activate it. I have tried every remote control known to man and cant get it activated.
Spoke to Steve off ukspeedtraps.co.uk and he advised the only proper way to test them is with a laser gun. Which i did
Policeman didnt flinch when i drove past, albeit i was observing the speed limit religiously. The buzzer is loud and will certainly wake you up, the LED flashes quickly as well.
It is a top class unit and well worth £235...i paid 285 6 months ago which was cheap then.
On another note, i wouldnt broadcast down the pub that you have one fitted. The more public knowledge about these devices the more the police will be on the look-out for them.
P.S. An installation tip on a scoob, if your number plate suits and has a suitably wide digit, cut a hole in the number plate the same size as the end of the jammer head, that is an ideal location, and would go totally unnoticed.

Fitted mine this afternoon using Pockman's instructions on page 21.
I took photos during the install and here is a mini guide in case anyone needs pictorial help. It shows how to install the RoadAngel connector box.
clicky

K300 - Thanks for a good service and promt delivery of a superb product. The comment made in a previous reply was not meant to be derogatory to you.
I would recommend you as a top class retailer who knows his stuff and has a very competetive price, hope we can all do business with you again.
Radar Detector Shop known also as K300
If I was you I would be having serious words with your supplier, as he was trying to under cut you, probably not knowing that you were involved.
I installed today, did not fit the led, as the buzzer will give adequate warning. Switch mounted underside of dash, and buzzer under side of dash. Fitted diffuser under front number plate.
Pictures of my install
Edited to say - Just need to touch up the end of bracket with some black hammerite, thats the bit that is shining in above pics.

Jwallis , I would think so , though they connect to the loom seperately it does look as though the connection is via the B2
K300 who arranged the LRC100 group buy rand Origin and they dont make the cable yet even though they show on theur website , he said that they may look at making their own version

The only item thats included in the kit which could have been made better as far as I was concerned would be the switch. It would have been better if there was an LED to indicate if the unit was on or off, I keep forgetting if its on or off, and have to toggle it until I hear the bleep, I may change it to one with an LED indicating that its on.

Anybody doing one on Laser Diffusers, this would be a wise investment with all the mobile speed traps around.
It will block any attempt by use of laser to read the speed of your car.
Anyone got one?

I spoke to Performance Products - company that produces the Snooper etc. and it does one a 360 degree Laser Diffuser.
Their Laser Detector is 360 degree as well, if mounted on windscreen, ie not in engine bay.
This retails at £299, but I am sure that we can get a similar or the same model for a lot less than that. I want one, but cannot afford that price.

It works on its own, you do not need anything else, and it will not interfere with other products.
I still am not sure regarding being fired at from behind as the diffuser is mounted in the from grill. I think most laser guns are aimed at oncoming traffic.

not legal to use,but legal to own. so you can have it in your car but ilegal to switch it on,you could get done for try to prevert the couse of justice if they catch you with it on. put a switch out of the way or if you have a uk car you could of found a discrite use for the bright switch

I have the Snooper SLD 920 - ok product - the wires at the back of the diffuser can corrode though... - and can go faulty
That said I would purchase one - £240 is ok - should be able to reduce significantly on a group buy as they are brought over from the states as a product called 'blinder' and then just repackaged with a snooper cover - they cost about £160ish in the States...
For full protection you need one front and rear - easy installation - but if your not a techie your local car stereo place should fit for about £30-£40.... each end of the car.
They are not definately not 360 - dont see how they can be - they will block whatever angle they project from - i.e. front of car 180 degrees and then at back 180 degrees must be max
The audible noise warning is not very good - especially when your listening to your stereo - so I have a series of LED's down the drivers side pillar
Fitting - yes either side of number plate at front - as far apart as possible
On rear you can fit just above number plate - there is a recess of most cars where the devices fit in - very useful as the police tend to sit up hardshoulders of slip roads and get you from behind
The device can be turned off and on as required
Oh and they do work very effectively!
I've never been stopped for using it - as long as you dont continuously drive past to check that your device does actually work then you should be ok - to reconfirm they DO work and are very useful purchase if you wnat more protection - with Origin Blue/Morpheus your almost fully protected - except for being stopped directly be a car.
Course you may want to leave permanently on for those pesky saftey vans!!

The 920 has now been replaced with the 920X, apparently the 920 had several faults which have been corrected in the 920X.
It did get a quote for the Laser Blinder for £229
They do seem expensive for a garage door opener, but could save your license.
