Never been on a Saturday before for the qualification rounds of European finals but feckin heck, it was better than any race day I've been to!!.
The 1/4 mile run put in by Top fueler Kim Reymond was stunning, with a time of 4.64 secs and a speed thru the finish measured at 318 mph. I've seem many sub 5s (including a couple of others that day) but this was something different especially as he head to fight the car all the way up the strip - simply awesome!.

Was there also. I left just after that sportswagon lost control and went into the field at about half four. Anyone know if they were ok?
I also saw the "EVO" - thought it was an Audi TD?
Various Scoobs were there including a green classic 4 door starting TAZ.
Anyone here?

Butty,
I was there just as the accident happened. No idea about the guy, I decided it was time to leave then as well. Seemed like it was going to take a while to clear. Was a lovely looking car as well.
The EVO was def an EVO7 or 8 but the guy obviously had a sense of humour. I took a couple of pics of it which I will post later on when I download them.
Did either of you guys have WRC Blue STi8's ....i saw two in the car park as well as a WRX in blue as well

We were up there as well and it was brilliant Camped from Thursday and left about 4.00'ish on Sunday. It makes the normal run-what-ya-brung look very slow.
What happened to the green Scooby as we missed that?

Yep, first trip up there and very enjoyable!
Standing in the shed area when the jet car went off was an 'experience' (to be sampled probably only once in a lifetime!)
The Audi 'TDi' badged Evo made me smile...suprised they didn't go the whole hog and put Suabru badges on instead!
Was it me or was the M1 filled with arseholes on the way home?

We camped all weekend, what a blinder it was.
TOP FUEL FUNNY CAR:
What a dramatic final! Spuff left the line very strongly, then had another bang, the burst panel came off and then the entire body lifted off the car and slid upside down across the track. Meanwhile Gordon was on a stormer, 0.886 to sixty feet, 222 mph at half track, and then the car drifted further and further left and then into Spuff's lane, disqualifying Gordon. 5.331/214.48 came up in Spuff's lane as Gordon went through his timers, Spuff rolled through the top end and actually won the race! Spuff is just fine.
And then in the Top fuel dragster final Micke Kågered's dragster burst into a huge fireball and I did'nt have the camera ready
caught a blinding photo of the jetcar:
and the fastest ever run in Europe by Kim Reymond 4.645/317.56
check the time board - 317MPH in 4.64 seconds

Roel Koedam waited for the green and left on a good one, he got to about 200 feet when there was a huge bang, a flash of flame, a huge splat of oil on the track, and lots of metal pieces. Roel is fine but the engine has probably fallen off its perch.
