It's the 2002 model year Japanese spec homologation special. On similar lines to the MY03 Spec C, about which a lot has been said here lately.
Think bugeye, 300bhp, short ratio six speed gearbox, driver controlled centre diff, lightweight bodyshell with some of the car's toys omitted, boot mounted intercooler water spray tank, available in both 16" wheel and 17" wheel versions (with Subaru 294mm and Brembo 332mm brakes respectively).
Daresay you'll find out more about it on the Japanese Subaru website.

Skid, the specs on Iain's site are the '03 model year cars. Shark was asking about the 2002 version, which doesn't have the twin scroll turbo, equal length manifolds and so-on.

OK - it gets a bit confusing, but I am gonna try to clear it up for those who don't know (but want to know) about the boring details regarding terms like "spec C", "version C" or "C revision" (veterans who know it all already, those not interested need not read any futher). I am not being snide I hope, just hoping this may help keep things clear...
In JDM land "type C", "version C" or "C revision" (rev C etc. etc.)is usually used to refer to the type of Rex you have/are talking about, because we don't follow model years. We instead have "updates" that appear at "fairly" random times.
The current shape Impreza WRX series is for example GDAC, STi GDBC (i.e. the 3rd revision of the car since launch), just like the GC8s had GC8A through F over its life.
Then Subaru goes and makes it more confusing by releasing the ripper "Impreza WRX STi type RA spec C" Great motor, mouthfull of a name The first version appeared in the "B revision/type/series" with no DCCD-A, but lightwieght, extra caster front end and ball bearing turbo (not sure if that was or wasn't on the other RAs already though) made for a much quicker Evo competitor.
Hope this helps (and I haven't p-ed anyone off).
Cheers
