They are hardly cut slicks They are similar to the EVO7+ Yokohama tyres.

The R Rated tyres, like on the CSL have a much bigger area and they really are like cut slicks in their design. I didn't like them on the CSL.
The Subaru ones only have the thick tread on the outside first section. They work really well and are very consistant on a track. However they are nowhere near as quick as a road legal slick like the Dunlop or Avons.
id- come and take mine for a spin see what you think

huh ....however fast a car is, tyres can make a huge difference to grip!
edited to say a reply to v-tech
Iain - are Bridgestone likely to supply the tyres in the UK?

Actually my mistake:
The Cerbera is fast enough to create its own weather - The 993 Turbo is fast enough to rearrange you internal organs!
Image Doc - I know tyre brand/compound can have a big effect, I was merely stating that the car is fast anyway!!
As a regular driver of an ITR these cars would show an enormous difference if they were fitted with anything other than Bridgestone SO2's (SO3's now - but not quite as good as SO2's )
I can't believe that the manufacturers would willfully send their test wagons into a competition like this with anything less than the optimum tyre for the car!!!!!!!!!
Iain put some Toyo's on it and do it all again LOL

As it stands at the moment Bridgestone are not supplying the tyre unless demand increases. I would expect the performance to just the same (if not better in the wet) on the new Pirellis or if you want faster lap times run the new Avon road legal slicks. We are currently speaking to Avon about a deal for JDM car owners

Saw the Autocar article, impressed. I recognise the reg no, used to be on car before I got it. Finally got the O2 sensor changed out yesterday, so far everything A1 and dandy.
Nice to see a Scooby out handling an Evo for a change. I read that it was more to do with the DCCD than the tyres, maybe others interpreted it differently.
Thanks for all your help m8.

Have you seen the state of British roads then??? - while the tyre choice might be good on track, it comes down to which hole you bounce off on the road to make or break that corner!
Think I'll just run on the rims round here
(Only joking Iain - as the next one may well come from you as well)
