sounds to me like he might be running fully comp on Mazda to get cover for being able to drive any car ? Although not sure at the age of 17 anyone would insure him for that ??
Can't think of anything else it would be

removed dud comment after reading article...
he is indeed only covered 3rd party on the scoob, as you'd expect.
dont think i'd risk insuring my (soon to be mine anyway scoob 3rd party only! he's either very brave or very stupid!

I have the 3rd party thing on mine, it's only for cars loaned to me and that have nowt to do with the motor trade / hired car and such like, as above I'd very much doubt he's properly covered I think I'm right in saying the car has to be insured in someone else's name aswell, maybe to prevent this sort of thing?
That aside, there's fecking no way I'd drive a scoob everyday 3rd party, no way!
The thing I find most shocking though is that wing, what's that all about

Thought fully comp would cover all cars of similar insurance group only, in 3rd party, and only if loaned or summit....so kinda dodgy. So his mazda shouldnt be covering it anyways......I may and prolly am wrong here.
Another good line on the thang is " and, most importantly, dump valve" I wonder how many "horses" this will give
And people wonder why I dont want anything to do with Max power.
Ach well confirms Im gettin old really LOL

also the scoob would have to be insured by somebody else before he could drive it 3rd party on his own policy...
and some insurance companies do cover for 3rd party on other cars for those under 25, my mate has this in his policy and he's 19...

I smell bullsh*t.
It's an older car, so TD05 or maybe VF22/23, but 341bhp with "just" a piggyback ECU, induction kit, exhaust and, "most importantly", dump valve? Hmmm...
As has been mentioned above, bit of a lop-sided setup keeping the standard brakes too, but then most Max Muppets don't think about stopping...
Max Power, doncha just luvvit?
Cool struts!

I used to insure my cosworth this way when i was younger, id insure the car fully comp in my dads name then look in the auto trader for a cheap car to insure get its reg and in sure that fully comp so i could drive my cosworth, not the best way to do it but its the only way i could afford to drive it with silly quotes like £6000 and a weekly fuel cost of £80 its the only way these young pups can do it on less there loaded!

you'd need insurance on both cars. Fully comp means that if you are allowed to drive other cars 3rd party that car must be insured also (but not by you).
I found out as I had a spare MR2 and my mates car blew up, he said his insurance allowed him to drive other cars so I let him borrow it, turns out as it wasn't insured as his 3rd party cover was void becasue the MR2 wasn't insured.
