Big big thanks to Ian from Litchfields for letting me test drive his spec C at rally day yetsterday. Took her up the road for a blast and it really is a different car from my STI8.
Ian reckon around 340 - 350 BHP. Very very smooth power delivery all the way to the 8000 red line. The only thing i didnt like was the lack of the scooby grumble. Although this thing sounded like a big jap bike on full charge.

Funny thing was when i got home and watched the video my other half took of the day I was on track with the Spec C without knowing. Timed our laps from the video and we were lapping within 2-3 seconds of eachother. He looked a much better driver than me as well haha. So is it worth £28K. Your damned right it is, but not in red for me I dont think. Might have to take a trip and have a serious chat about obtaining one I think.

Gary - it is an incredible car!

One thing I would say, is that every time I saw Iain on track, he was constantly sideways entertaining the crowd (he actually got a round of applause at least twice from the audience at Quarry for his antics) which is obviously not the fastest way around the track

Certainly not taking anything away from you (who looked clean on track) but when going for speed rather that style, there are few off the shelf road cars that would come close to the Spec C on track.

After serious consideration, I have decided to turn my car into a track weapon, predominantly because I have already spent so much money doing so. However, for anybody after the ultimate scoob, I suggest you don't testdrive this car at lest you can realistically sign on the line, because you will want it so much it will drive you mad

and soon, oh so soon - it will be mine )

But these next 2 weeks are going to be agony (it's already stopping me from concentrating at work - hope my boss doesn't own a Scooby).

Don't let the red (with gold alloys) put you off, it looks great in all the other colours - even the red would look good with white or silver alloys!

Question

are they a limited edition???
What is the warranty/assistance like on them and where can you have them serviced??
Can you have them remapped, or is it SUL all the way?? Sorry for all the questions but if I am to consider buying one I need to know.
Is there just one C Spec model??
cheers

Nige

Thumbs up

Right lets see (sorry if I miss any):

Yes the Spec C "Ltd" is - don't think the std Spec C is though!
(Difference of the above is Elec Windows & Air Con with different interior - checkout www.litchfieldimports.co.uk for spec)

Warranty is 1 year I think & you'd be able to sort out servicing with Iain - he doesn't mind RC Developments in Northwich doing the oil changes and minor stuff

They come pre-mapped from Powerstation for 95RON fuel (again read all about it on the Website), but I'm going to be putting Optimax in mine at all times as I've always done with other cars).

Spec C or Spec C Ltd are the only options.

I think that's all you asked about,

Andy

It did feel like a seriously fast car on the road I have to say and the way it put the power down was great, real progressive.

Only trouble is I have only had mine a few months and now I want one of those. Gonna take a bit hit on mine me thinks.

Rasher I have an STi8 with some ''Trust'' gear on it, not PPP. I was hoping to play with a PPP car on the track but non of then materialised. Well not on my run out anyway.

I would say that the spec C is a different animal to my car yes. Wasnt 100% convinced with the interior. Prefer the blue seats in my car and the ally look dash parts etc. However you cant ignore 340 - 350 BHP can you?

Once again im gonna say it ''shame about the lack of scooby grumble though''.

Cool

Ian's gang tore past us on the A417 on the way to the Rally Day.

That Spec-C is awesome. Sounded fantastic past my right ear!!!

One in yellow, please...

Can't get them in Yellow mate, Red, White or Blue only!!

My friend Paul has taken up Ians offer of a test drive, and will be hopefully trying it sometime soon!

Very quick car, was putting some serious distance between himself and the rest of the cars on the track at the time! Made an Evo 6 look decidedly ordinary

Must say Ian is a very safe chap, and was informative and helpful towards my friends quieries

It might struggle against the 840BHP RS200e though Ian! LOL **** me was that thing fast!!!!!!!!!

Rasher,

It seemed very different inside, quite bland to be honest. The one Iain had was the limited edition one which has air con, but they dont come with that as standard. What it did have though was some seriously wacky dials. They were well cool.

Anyway if you have more questions give Iain a buzz im sure he will be more than happy to help you out.

The car gets my vote
