My car has a "Tracker Fitted" sticker in every window apart from front and rear screens...(fitted by the previous owner)

I think it works well as a warning but it also tells any would be theif what they have to do to be able to nick my car..

It also has "Sigma" stuck on the front 2 windows.

What do you think ??

1) leave them so the theif knows what he has to overcome to nick my motor ?
2) take them off and lose the visual deterrent but leave the thieving gits guessing ?

advice i received from the police (as i had the same idea) was NOT to advertise you have tracker.

If you tell em they will still steal your car and with not much effort find and remove the unit (there are only so many palces that one can be fitted!)

If you check the tracker documentation they insist that you don't advertise the device. I'm with the others, keep the ******* guessing. They'll only check out the stickers, go away and research whats needed to defeat your system and come back when ready.

Simple nameless "Security System Installed" stickers if you must, but I go with nothing. Looks neater anyways.

A tracking system acts as a 'tracking system' it's not a deterent, if the scum know you've got a tracking unit, they'll look for it b4 taking it - doh!, keep em guessing, another way is to leave a large rottweiler in the car, this method also needs no 'stickers'

I wouldn't even let them know what kind of alarm you have by way of a sticker. It's gives them more information than they need.

Put one of the stickers on a black box with a wire in it and stick it under you seat. Then when they strip the car they'll think they've found the unit.

Definitely the no-sticker approach, much safer.
I like the idea of hiding dummy 'trackers' around the car though. I guess they'd have to have their own self-contained power supply for it to be truly effective though.

I'd go with no stickers too.

I like the dummy tracker idea. Think i might have to give that a try.

Thumbs down

Leave 'em off. Don't give the ******* any clues.

Visual deterrent? All it does is tell the wannabe car thief what you've got. It's a fair bet these days that most cars have some alarm/immobiliser/tracker device. If they want your car that bad, make 'em work for it.

All off as far as I'm concerned. Tell 'em what to look for and you're giving them an instant advantage.

Some alarms are recognisable by the LED that is fitted to the dash........I remember a friend of mine who fitted alarms suggested putting in a flashing LED somewhere in the dash that was a dummy so the thieves would have a hard time working out what alarm it was and how to disable it.

Another idea could be to put a different sticker on, ie. if you have a toad, put the clifford stickers on. Really throw a spanner in the works for them
