Right, maybe someone can settle this wee debate i have been having with a mate of mine who says that a guy we both know has gained 100 (yes one hundred) brake from simply fitting an HKS exhaust, i'm unsure of the model.

Now i'm pretty sure that gains like that cannot be seen from just an exhaust, but, me not being a scooby owner or familiar with HKS systems, i was hoping someone can confirm to me that i think he's either very silly for beleiving this or pulling our twigs...

He also through into the convo that HKS can guaruntee (sp) this.

Thoughts??

Pub talk... Pure and simple. There is no way at all that modifying an exhaust alone will give 100bhp.

It can give surprising results, but that's just crazy

Yeah, if that were the case then people would just spend the 500+ on an HKS system rather than thousands trying to gain that power. I knew it wasn't possible, just thought i'd run it by the experts..

Hehehehehe 100 bhp. I had a full decat and now I see 305 bhp, so thats a gain of 25 bhp. Definately pub talk

100hp is perfectly possible from an exhaust and you can also gain an additional 25hp from a max power sun strip, and if your power hungry then you can wring out an additional 15hp from red annodised dust caps!

Not to mention the extra BHP you can get from fitting shiney bits under the bonnet. I hear the best chromed filler caps are worth an extra 5bhp alone.

Sounds like the wrong ends of different sticks to me...
Std. classic scooby would be circa 200-210 bhp (or maybe 220 for later models).
P1's with just backboxes have RR'd to 300-305 apparently, in some cases.
It is possible he's got over 300BHP in his P1 but not an extra 100BHP over what he started with.

How much beer had been consumed by the time of this conversation?

I have seen two different P1s dynoed on a RR at 290bhp both with full decat and ~190bhp @ wheels.
