Hi, I am thinking of moving to this part of the world have looked at a house and a business sorted out immigration etc.
I will be going back out in September and I am looking for two vehicles to purchase, one (4x4) for me and a smaller one for my wife(scooby?) Can any members help?
Would also like to meet anyone who lives in the area, I am looking at Annopolis Royal Digby areas.
I would appreciate any help from any of our canadian members
Cheers

Bloody "Noofys"
I used to live in Vancouver, probably as far as you can get from Nova Scotia.
There is a bloke here who moved to Toronto, click his profile to e-mail him.

Good luck with the move, Canada is a beautifull country.

Hi Ben, a relative of mine lives there, he's in the marine, and live near the port of Halifax Nova Scotia, and the thing I have to warn you "aboot" (Canadian accent hahaha) is the price of car insurance... It costs a lot of $$$ to insure your car in
Nova Scotia, but I guess you bloke are used to that...
You should have moved to Montreal Quebec, we have a great Scooby Club here, www.montrealsubaruclub.com Anyways, hope you'll be happy at the new job and house. See ya ol' chap

Thanks guys, the reason for Nova Scotia, NEW SCOTLAND!!! and Im Scottish but the price of housing and buying a business were the main factors.
I hope to be able to buy a Subaru when I get there and I guess the Insurance will be the same as here in the Uk in relative terms.
The people I met in Nova Scotia were so warm and Friendly and this convinced me to go
Keep in touch guys

I've been to Goose Bay loads of times, that part of Canada is empty, the small town (village) there is called Happy Valley and when you get to the end of it the tarmac stops and the road turns into a gravel track with a big sign "Trans Labrador Highway - Churchill 400km".
Supplies can only get there by sea or air and the harbour is icebound for nine months of the year.
I know someone who lived there for three years when their kids were young, once they were back in civilisation the kids didn't recognise lettuce because it wasn't brown.
Don't take a european car, all the locals drive big US 4WD and snowmobiles.
It's OK if you like the cold, the isolation, the mosquitos and black fly, and the moose, caribou and bear.
But the Northern Lights can be really spectacular.
