Chill out man - Saturday is always quiet on Scoobynet
I would think that both do the same job, however it is always the subject of great debate as to wether they do any good???????
Mine goes whoosh
Do a search on dumpvalves and you'll be reading till Christmas

Cheerz Brun
I been lukin around an cant seem to get a good idea of what the difference is. The best i know is they both make a noise on the release of the pressure. I not bothered about power gains etc but i heard that they help the turbo with the parts that spin in it cant be more specific not upto scratch on the car yet!!!!

Cool

It's such a brilliant new question that everyone is gasping and in awe and not knowing what to answer.

Dumpvalves, funny, that has really never been covered here. Weird

But as some people said: don't bother, leave the standard item unless it's giving you problems.

They both stop the turbine/compressor wheels in the turbo from stalling when the throttle valve snaps shut, as in when you change gear. stops the thing from having to spool-up again and so reduce lag.
Vent to atmossphere (VTA) makes an iritating noise,
Re-serc dosent make much noise cause it dumps it back in the inlet.
Both do the same job, both make sodall differance in power.
Aftermarket ones are more reliable "SOMETIMES", than std ones which are sometimes made of plastic and can be erm, crap!

edit to say that, as above, i could think of better things to spend 80-300 quid on
