Consiencious Car Thieves???
#1
Had mine knicked from a water park while i was out skiing (shouldn't have left my keys in my bag) The police tracked it within 15mins and found it parked up, locked and alarmed, with my phone, cd player, sub, wetsuit, camera, glasses and a packet of **** still inside it! The cheeky basta*ds even listened to their own cd (left my best of Elton John on the passenger seat) and changed all my eq settings!
The keys were posted through a youth club door and i got em back within an hour.
The only problem was that i had to pay for the recovery (which i didn't ask for) and the front wing has lifting-strop shape dents in (not from the thieves)
Why didn't i have my black jack on ?!
Any one had a more lucky escape??

Black Jack is on the immobiliser, if you don't enter a code before you drive off it stops the car. But Thatcham say they haven't tested it so it invaldates the Thatcham 1 Catagory, theoretically invalidating your insurance. + its a hassle keying it in every time, maybe we should revert back to a hidden switch idea, that'd fool em.

ill have a wild guess at this
they nicked it and parked it up to see if the tracker peeps sent the police round, after they saw the police come they just dumped the keys sumwhere as to not be caught

Have you seen these
http://www.vehiclesecurityinstallations.co.uk
- the barrier deadlock system.. apparently undefeated , and use by the cops - so they can pull up, lock the gearshift with the deadlock whilst leaving the engine still running!
when i finally get my scoob, i think this will be the first device fitted.

I have a barrier deadlock - it locks the car in reverse. How exactly do you think that can be done with the engine still running? Do the cops put a brick on the clutch pedal?

i read it somewhere, it lock their shift in neutral, maybe its a modified deadlock with two bars perhaps? dont know... but it did say it allows them to jump out leaving the engine running, but the car is effectively immobilised.
