I just did a quick quote on LiverpoolVictoria website with a randomly picked Liverpool postcode (L9 4RE) for a 41yo male full NCD protected on a WRX and came back with £895-990.

Any good?

Oh and gunder, STOP SHOUTING. (Turn your caps lock off )

how old are you, any claims/points?

no scoobs are reasonable to insure, they all cost a $hit load.

Cool

Your ambtions of an STi are somewhat overshadowed by your insurance situation. If your over 30 try here for a quote but maybe you should be looking a little lower down the range. The WRX is considered the base model turbo car and I can insure one at 33yo with full NCD, no points and Leeds postcode for around £600. if you've never driven any of these cars (and from reading your post it sounds like you haven't, no offence intended) then you may be better aiming at this level anyway. They are not slow by any standards, and with a little tuning (PPP-£1600) can be as quick in many ways (not all) as an STi. Other tuning routes are available if warranty is not an issue, some of the more fanatical people on here are pushing 500bhp, but that would cost many £000's.
I suggest you go drive a couple of these cars before setting your heart on an STi, and dig a little deeper on the insurance thing too.

the only other thing you can do is get a non new car ie bug eye or classic with boss performance but cost less & thus may cost less to insure. Have you inquired about how much extra security might change quotes? There's various things you can try to lower yer premium init.......

if insurance is going to be your main decision maker then yer presumably not looking at an import & i guess you'll need a cheap car with a few mods & lots of security hey wana buy my MY97 uk turbo saloon? Were you set on geting a newer one or do you just want performance with cheap insurance (a contradiction in terms at least to a degree)?
