Just thought I'd start off and say 'Hello'
I'm due to pick up my first Scooby on Saturday, a lovely MY00 (I think that's how you describe each model & year??) and wondered if any of you 'experienced' owners would like to impart so helpful advice. I'm sure most of this has been covered but it gives me a good excuse to make my first post!
I'm particularly interested in the following:
i) Tyres (Goodyear F1 vs. Yoko’s) as current ones are not going to last long.
ii) Child seats! Is the Recaro a must?
iii) Helpful hints on keeping the car in tip top condition (oil, letting it idle after a run out etc...)
iv) What's the most common upgrade fitted (back box, dump valve etc)
v) Anything else I should know?
I remember seeing something on here about 'The Scooby Wave'. Is this where you acknowledge other like-minded Scooby drivers on the road? My wife used to own a MK1 MR2 and this was something the owners club encouraged and always made her smile. The only problem was that MK1 drivers blanked MK2 drivers and vice-versa. Does this happen between 'classic' & 'bug eyes'??
Cheers

Hi Mate and welcome. To be honest, most Classic drivers will say hi to Bug Eyes and vice versa. If they don't they ain't worth worrying about!
Hope you enjoy the MY00.
Cheers, HB.

Hello mate
I drive a MY00 Turbo myself.
First mod I made was a new back box to release 'that sound'.
Give Paul @ TSL or Pete @ Scoobysport a call and wave goodbye to all your spare funds.

hmmm.... don't ever ever ever mod your car. its not right and its not proper, plus there is no known antidote once this bug has bitten. they say women are the biggest money reducing agent known to man but i would argue that scooby modding comes in a damn close second.
ohh well still saving me pennies for that FMIC
welcome to the wonderful world of scoob ownership
BTW that grin never goes away y'know
cheers

Hi there and welcome.
Ive got F1's and am very impressed with the handling, especially in the wet, and they seem to wear well too.
I tend to wave at all Scoobies if I see them in time.

Philips VisionPlus if you care about your money and want 'em quick. Try and get some from the xenon group buy thread in Lighting and Electrical if you care about your money and don't need them quite so quick.
PIAA Plasma Sparks if you're minted and want the absolute, no compromise, best.
