The Scooby Wave
#1
I've had a WRX for just over 3 months now, and there's still something thats puzzling me.
I've been waving at every Subaru in the district - but only the Impreza drivers respond (well some of them anyway). All other Subaru drivers look suprised.
So first question:
Is the Scooby Wave for Imprezas only? Or maybe just for ScoobyNeters?
Secondly, what happens when you spot a Scooby behind you, say on the motorway. Nodding doesn't seem to work.

I think its for Imprezas only, its a performance car icon and owning one is like being in an elite club
Owning a Forester doesn't really apply

Impreza's only and I have had a few strange looks from Sport / GX owners,
Seems to depend on area, down south lots of wavers, whilst touring round york not a single one waved back.
just what I have found, nothing against yorkshire scoobs.

It's an Impreza only thing around my way , and then not all of the drivers play the game .Most are quite friendly though .

Have you noticed that you get to a point where nobody has waved back for ages, so you say to yourself "sod it I won't wave this time" and guess what happens - yep they wave at you
Not that I lose sleep over it or anything

I give a little wave or flash to ALL impreza drivers, soon as i see those big spots a flash or a wave follows, Some respond some don't. Even my lad will walk down the street, see a scoob and wave then come home and tell me......

Agree we all need to make the effort and acknowledge each other on the road. I think with some people they want to wave but feel that if in doing so they won't receive a wave back so end up not doing it, Maybe the scoobynet stickers will help!!
I'm Actually impressed on how many pedestrians give the thumbs, a few weeks ago a guy took his hat of to me whilst driving past and waved, Also Yesterday not sure if it was a puggy driver but he gave me the thumbs up out of his sun roof and a toot on the horn which I thought was nice.
WAS THIS YOU, i'm sure there should be more posting lets make the effort

Somebody posted about different responses from the classic/minging shapes.
Small, very unscientific trial over the past few weeks - waved at 7 classics and 6 new shape/bugeyes.
Results - 7 from 7 and 0 from 6.
Note - driving my00 classic, natch.
Goddamn ageism...>(

Arm, I know you can get the scoobynet sticker if you join the scoobynet club but unsure if they are available on there own without paying the 25 quid club cost.
There is one alternative the king of all stickers, try finding Salsa-king you won't be dissapointed.

I get loads of ppl waving at me, had a few owners come talk to me at the old Petrol Pumps. RS4 ownership was like this.
Make my wife ROFL, she keeps threating to get me "im a sccoby nerd" baseball hat

Im a waver, Gosport and Fareham area.
get good waves from classics, but have to admit that you bug eye types are not joining in so much.
Salsa-King stickers is the way forward (sorry mate, guess youll need another batch )
I have a green smilie and a yellow winking on the nearside rear windscreen (for when Ive passed you) and a blue thumbs up and a yellow drunk eyes to go in the front, but where?
behind the rear view? down in front of the driver at low level?
Anyhoo, keep waving.
Peanuts......
