Hi All,

May have a chance to drive in europe in a few weeks, do i need anything apart from insurance to take my car?

Warning Triangle, spare bulbs, headlamp thingies first aid kit. but the list does depend the Countries visiting

For breakdowns etc. Subaru assistance, RAC gold recovery(but excludes NurburgRing Area)

Details of car ownership V5 form is a must for them to recover it

I would not worry about fuel in Europe it is cheaper and better than the crap you feed your cars in England

You must have the following with the car at all times:

Warning triangle
First aid kit
Spare bulbs
Drivers licence (and the stupid extra bit that the UK insists we have to have with the photo card ones!)
Vehicle insurance documents (and green card for European cover if not covered normally)
Vehicle registration document
MOT certificate (if applicable)

Optional, but recommended:

European wide vehicle recovery
E111 form from post office for NHS medical cover (unless you are relying on separate insurance policy)
Mobile phone (with roaming enabled before you leave the UK)
Avoid France (just my opinion anyway)

As commented above, in most European countries octane is not an issue, although places like Italy and Greece I hear can be a pain - dunno about the old Eastern Bloc countries, probably not the best places yet.
