£2000 to spend what shall I buy
#1
Right placed an ad for my old pug 206 in Exchange and Mart, which came out at the end of last week and have had lots of phone calls for it. Today the first visit came round, and guess what they want the car and should be picking it up during the week. The question is this I have around £2000 to spend, as the rest is going into savings and paying for my huge insurance bill, so what do I buy. I reckon some ICE but not major amounts as I don't want to slow the car down to much, engine mods are out due to the insurance, any other ideas.

I agree, if engine mods are out of the question then brakes are the way to go.Then next year when your insurance (hopefully) comes down a bit then you can start thinking about engine mods.

Didn't you say you were having to go without just to pay your insurance bill in your previous thread? Now you have £2k to blow on mods!?! Strange.... Why don't you leave the car alone and pay off your insurance and then get some of the things you have had to do without? The student union would be my first port of call every time I had spare cash, if I was still a student!

Some of STI @ 21's postings are an inigma ...
If you must have mods.... BRAKES and Suspension BEFORE performance enhancement EVERY time.... and as for an excess of ICE .... most uncool ..

Yeah I can cover the the insurance and ease up on the work to go out more, as well as spend this amount of money. Am missing the sound system from my old car, so might invest in a simple small yet fairly powerful system, nothing to OTT. As for brakes don't know think the car stops well enough as it is. Might get it lowered, but then again that might cost loads in scrapping speed bumps and stone chips. Big think me thinks, but I think ICE is the first step. Keep posting!!

Yeah am thinking about one of those detectors, but will have to see how much I left over from the ICE. Have just ordered and am having fitted on Friday a new Sony head unit, along with £700 worth of speakers and amps, have told them not to put any subs in as i don't want to slow the car down, so hopefully I will end up with an awesome sounding system that is light. Still should have it in for the next cruise to Southend on the 12th, so I'll get all your opinions then. See you all later.
