Just got back from a memorable trip back to get some petrol. Rather than take the motorway back, I decided I 'd go back via my fave B road. But Disaster struck, it'd been closed

Decided to press on and find some otherway back, set the sat nav for 'home' and turned off at the next road(just happened to say no HGV's (Always a good sign IMHO).

What followed next was 30 mins of pure driving nirvana. No houses, no traffic just open flowing roads. At every safe opportunity the car was just dancing round the corners, a surgical laser for me to use in which to slice way way through the countryside.

We often get bogged down in the nasty aspects of Impreza ownership, insurance, speed cameras, vandalism, petty arguments over trivial things and the costs of ownership.

But the whoosh of PPP'd forced induction, neck snapping deceleration from AP 6 pots and the joy of piloting a sonic blue streak as it punches it's way from 'A to whereever' with no one and nothing to get in the way pushes these niggles, now insignificant out of the way, leaving only memorable moments of pure driving heaven.

Poetry, sheer poetry!

Impreza + sunshine + empty country roads = nerve tingling experience. (beats e=mc squared anyday)

Had a good'un on Saturday evening.

A mate with a new A4 TDI (the limp 1.9 version) was saying that torque was all that matters... And he asked me to take him for a spin.

There's some cracking country lanes around billericay, and some are just perfect - you know the sort. Good tarmac, good visibility, good camber, no traffic for miles and Twisties (tm) to die for that you can see round thanks to lack of hedgerows.

The acceleration to, and taking the first corner was the best. After the screams, he settled down and started just laughing and laughing and laughing...

Days like that, it's all worthwhile

He wants one now.

I think I must have had the same idea as you neil. I went out to take some pics of my pride and joy, with the leftover cleanliness form yesterdays NBO!
I was going for the "EVO MAGAZINE" look, and apart from not being blurred enough on the road bit, it has worked really well.
That is a gorgeous road to drive by the way, from Charlesworth to the top of Hayfield in Derbyshire.
Had to take it easy though on this occasion, as the camera was still suckered to the car!

Here here, bravo.

Couldn't resist it myself last thursday. Lovely run from Wetherby out through Knaresborough to Bolton Abbey and on to Burnsall & Grassington. Meal @ The Devonshire and home through Beamsley (via Scooby dealers in Otley)

Live life.

cheers beefy, I would like to do a group shot of us all up on that road, there is a corner a bit further back that is dying to be photographed with a convoy of scoobs going through.
Next time we're out eh?

Yeah definately, that would look good, particularly in high resolution so everyone could make their own cars out.

I was living that drive with you Neil. I get the chance to do that when I drive home in the middle of the night after sea trout fishing. We have some very good roads for that kind of driving here. Doesn't matter if I haven't caught a fish-the drive more than makes up for it.
