Just trying to fit my new rear lights and I cant get the old ones out! There are 5 bolts but they wont pull out
any ideas greatfully recieved

btw its a classic.

Heat it up round the back with a hairdryer and pull really hard.

cheers mate - was worried about the plastic strip underneath - is it attacher to the lights or the car?

They are stuck in with lots of sticky goo because they leak if they're not sealed.

It's a long slow process to get 'em out IMHO, but just carry on gently working 'em and you'll manage

Undo the 5 nuts and pull it out cutting the glue with a knife or something. Job done Did you fit that induction kit yet?

n when you fit the new ones make sure you re seal them properly - i flooded the boot twice after fitting mine!!

what's the best stuff to reseal with if you've got a leak?

Damn boot leaks when I drive in very heavy rain-normally not a problem

I used that Halfords black Silicone sealer (green and white tube with self applicator) when I ' Sti'd ' the rear lights.

No problems with it and used a bit of WD40 on a cloth to wipe off any bits over.

I rolled off the original goo and stuck it on the new lights - no sign of leakage after 6 months and loads of jet washing!

i having my car painted and i need to remove them/mask them up next weekend

Yes it does, there are 2 screws to undo. On mine the bit under the lights is metal

Well thanks to all I have now fitted my new lights. Cheers for the quick and accurate advice.

What would I do with out ScoobyNet eh? lol

Right time to go to the NBO.
