How do I find out if my TypeR is a V Limited.

Its a MY99 STI5. It has the roof vent I'm told only the V Limiteds have, and it is also in Sonic Blue but it doesn't have the plaque under the ashtray to say it is.

Are there any other tell tale signs I can look for to satisfy my curiosity??

The model code for am MY99 STi V Type R Limited is GC8F2DD but it happens to be the same as a MY99 STi V Type R

The many differences seem to be cosmetic have you got the alcantara seats ?

yeah, I tried the vin before noticing they were the same.

Yes, the seats are red and black with grey alcantara centers.

does the paint and the vent settle that it is, or did some of the normal type r's come with these?

I too have a v5 Type R V-Ltd.

I believe that the v5 Type R V-Ltd does NOT have a plaque under the stereo, the v5 Type RA V-Ltd does.

Also the Type R doesn't have blue seat - just the normal STi black, grey and red.

I also have a 5 Type R 'V' Ltd, it has the roof vent, Sonic blue paint, alcantara middle sections on the seats and also a longer 5th gear. Whether this was restricted to 'V' Ltd's or an optional extra out of the factory.

I'm in the same boat, STi5 Limited, roof vent, long 5th but no badge, I have not heard of a V5 with the plaque.....

I tried this line a couple of days ago

My car was sold to me as a STI V Type R LTD and as well as having

Sonic blue paint

Roof vent

Taller 5th gear

Also has , 6 point STI F/F rollcage ,full Colin Mcrae 555 stickers
and YELLOW! STI mudflaps STI boost guage AND sump/diff guards.(Some one mislaid these when it got undersealed?....barstewards)
Also i've got most of the stickers of as the yellow was faded.

This car AFAIK, came out the factory like this .

I believe that SUBARU being overwhelmed with orders for the 22B .

Allowed disappointed customers to have pick of the parts bin special STI 5 Type Rs.

sorta seems settled then. I seem to have the V Limited.

I'm not sure if I have the taller 5th gear, although if I have, I would hate to have the shorter one as my car sits at about 3500rpm at 70mph.

i ve got a sonic blue V5 type r v-limited, roof vent, red,gray,black seats MY99, no badge under the ashtray either....
also it has got the red manifold
i also want to find out my car's number

looks like were both in the same boat.

There doesn't seem to bea way. Maybe these cars were never actually numbered !! ??

I have a Type R V limited (i believe!)

It has

Sonic Blue paint
mid level spoiler
Roof vent
plaque by gear lever
Gray alacantara seats with V3 embroidered in them
a V3 round plaque/badge on the left hand side of the boot lid
Tyre R on the right rear under the lamp
Gold wheels
ABS
lightweight bonnet

it does not have

Red mainfolds
Water spray
a adjsutable diff
Front fog lights

i don't know about the longer 5th gear, but it does an indicated 169mph in 5th on the limiter (doen at Bruntingthorpe before i get burned for being a fool on the roads!!)

on my type ra v-spec limited my98 although it is badged up under the ashtray,the embroided v3 seats and the badge on the tailgate. it also states on my log book that it is a v-spec, u could always checkout the vin. tag code GC8****(7 digits or letters). link:-

reading the above,my sti TYPE R version six v limited does have the blue seats,as do all v limited as far as i know,and the numbered plaque,what is your full model number??

I have an STi 5 Type R, it has sonic blue paint, roof vent, normal Type R gearing (i.e. circa 20mph per 1k revis in 5th) no plaque - dunno if it's a Limited or not?

It does go well though
