Hi i wanna get a HKS or Blitz full system on my STI8 uk when it arrives... And i asked about it and some people said that if i do that i could blow the engine up due to over boost. And to search for threads on it.. I did and couldnt really find the answers i was looking for.

So..

What is Overboost!
Will it nacker my car?
Can it be prevented?
Is it the Decatting that cause it?
Anyone got a Blitz or HKS system on their New scoobys and how does it sound perform!!

Your boost will increase due to less pressure and a free flowing exhaust, this will cause you big spikes which will kill your engine
The safest bet is the PPP if you wish to retain your warranty if not and you wish to forfeit your warranty (on engine, running gear and transmission parts) then you can get a remapped ecu (like ecutek) and have a full decat safely that way.
Personally id spend the 2k and have better resale value on the car and keep the full warranty (as engines are over 5k and i believe gearboxes are around 6k new) so weigh the costs up and see whats best for you
