Hi i wanna get a HKS or Blitz full system on my STI8 uk when it arrives... And i asked about it and some people said that if i do that i could blow the engine up due to over boost. And to search for threads on it.. I did and couldnt really find the answers i was looking for.

So..

What is Overboost!
Will it nacker my car?
Can it be prevented?
Is it the Decatting that cause it?
Anyone got a Blitz or HKS system on their New scoobys and how does it sound perform!!

Your boost will increase due to less pressure and a free flowing exhaust, this will cause you big spikes which will kill your engine :(
The safest bet is the PPP if you wish to retain your warranty ;) if not and you wish to forfeit your warranty (on engine, running gear and transmission parts) then you can get a remapped ecu (like ecutek) and have a full decat safely that way.
Personally id spend the 2k and have better resale value on the car and keep the full warranty (as engines are over 5k and i believe gearboxes are around 6k new) so weigh the costs up and see whats best for you ;)
