Try Insure Direct (part of TSB/Lloyds), got a very good quote with minimal excess. They seem very favourable towards Scoobs and cover appears good.

This will be in both sections...has anyone recently got insurance. Im reeling from a 75% hike in premium. Apparantly there has been a big personal injury claim and everyone is taking the heat for it. The only company offering cover is Norwich Union. Obviously Im making the calls, but this might be quicker. Please make any suggestions.

Blp,

I recently also felt the sting of premium hikes, but not to that extent.
After much ringing, CGU and, (amazingly), The AA were cheapest.
It's definatley worth shopping round though, as the quotes for me varied by over £1,000!
Anyway, good luck

Hello,

I have just renewed with Bell Direct, who were by far the best. I am 28, unmodified car kept on the road and I pay £475 fully comp including business cover. this is £50 more than last year.

Do not use Greenlight, they will not insure people who live in Wales because "of the high crime rate". So, obviously the crime rate in the middle of Liverpool, Manchester or London low is it? What a shower of tw@ts!
Any company who spouts bullsh!t like that should be boycotted.

nfu is more for old(er) people! (over 30's)

I agree that Greenlight were/are crap - they never had the decency to ring me back after I tried them... TWICE - obviously not interested in the business, even though I had not got as far as asking them to beat a quote - bunch of muppets

Best ones I found were:

1. Supercar insurance (EVO mag ad)
2. Bennets Elite (£50 higher than Supercar)
3. Barclays direct (some alliance with Privelege)- cheapest of all by about £100, but do not cover you to drive other peoples cars third party - as I drive other peoples cars occassionally - no good to me. Excess good at £100 as well (better than Privelege at £650!)

Rob

You couldn't let me know how you got your car insured with Hastings direct as they won't cover my RB5. Either your surname or reg would help.

thanks for your help

Primium`s don`t ask!

Payed 1000 last year, renewal 1300!!!! (97MY UK, 3years NCB, 26, Bromley on road, CAT 1)

Got four quotes all underwritten by AXA varied from 1250 to 1095 (Go figure that one!)

But my best is with Lloyds 925!

NU next best at 1400, most others 1600+

What an honest and straight-forward industry!

Just got insured for my standard uk turbo 2000 spec for £1069 from Privilege, 26 yrs old, 4 yrs no claims, on driveway, 30k miles pa, business use.

Having seen others, I think I am paying too much, but as all other quotes ranged from £1300 to £2500, I thought it wasn't too bad.

Question

Have a look in the UK Specification section under Insurance - New SIDC group members offer.

As mentioned the number may be wrong, I think the dialling code for Norwich is 01603

Happy hunting
