Anybody spot plod with the laser gun coming back form Japfest, going East located under the bridge.
Traffic was very heavy, probably because everything was slowing down.

StickyMicky - quite right, waste of good money - they do tell you when the traffic lights change, the shop escalator moves or the green-cross man has arrived, however!!

Our convoy down to JF was tailed by an umarked Volvo and a marked patrol car.
We were doing the correct speeds, but a pug 306 with a group of football fans came tearing past with said volvo on their tail.
Further up the motorway they were pulled, and as the copper got out the car he looked at us, grinned and waved.

My radar detector is very useful in Essex as they use mobile Gatso for which GPS systems are not much use. Yes it false alarms but that is better than no warning untill you get the double flash

Tim Bomford:
I think I will get it tested by a mate next week.
Could be the gun was not aimed, looking up the outside lane.
Nothing on the road angel to tell you its working or plugged in this does not inspire you with confidence that its working.
About Japfest: All the best laid plans Nothing was going to work out the way we expected.
Are you going to the Northern Big One, perhaps we could make a better job of it next time, you never know the sun might shine up north..
I really must use my new camping chairs and table sometime!
By the way, I like yer motor………………

right
my views
u spend loads and loads of money on a detector it might be of sum use
most peeps spend a few hundred maybe??
there crap they go off for anything, bloke changes his tv channel they go crazy etc etc
anyways u slow down "better safe then sorry" whats the point, u might as well just drive slow inthe 1st place if your gonna slow down at everything even remotly electrical, when they detect these speed traps, the signal is allready on its way back to the bloke with the gun etc etc (unless they pick up stray bands, unlikely) which means hes probs got your speed by the time your machine picks up the fact that your being watched
the gps things are a good idea for the fixed gatso etc etc, but if you in local towns etc etc, u probs know where they are anyways
cant rember who it was sorry, but whoever above said that there detector picked up the speed trap, were u speeding?? (like say 10/15mph over the limit?)
i would hazzard a decent bet that u wernt otherwise u would have been busted
these are my opinions so dont get to narky if u dont like them

I didn't leace Castle Coombe until a bit later on and heard quite a few people on their mobiles being warned about the traps on the way home.
When I left at 4.30 I didn't see any sign of the police.

It was an over bridge just before Junction 15 Swindon going east
about mid afternoon.
As for speeding everybody was at it, least you know with Road Angel your exact GPS speed you will get busted at ;
Not sure how they can book 1000's of cars a minute.
