STI8 SQUEAK
I guess you've just had delivery of your car right? don't worry soon the squeak will be coming from the roof, passenger head light area, boot and all four doors! Welcome to the world of STi8 and rock-hard suspension ownership!
Actually, I have a MY 03 WRX and if the sound of the squeek is similar to the mid 90's VW Golf advert where it was the womans earring that was sqeeking then there have been several posts about it. Typically the squeek comes from the rear and is hard to pinpoint. Mine, I think, comes from somewhere behind the driver in the rear 1/4... somedays it's a squeek but on others and dependant on the road surface can turn into a clicking mix with a squeek.
Fun and games.

Forget about sqeaks and get yourself a decent exhaust, that will soon get rid of them. I have found in the past the the dealer is about as much use as a chocolate tea pot at fixing them. Got my STi8 at the begining of March and the rattle and squeaks didn't take long to appear. Having owned scoobs for the past 3 years I knew what was coming so I just changed my exhaust and all fixed now
I have had the 2 privious incarnations of the Impreza Turbo 2000/WRX and neither of which even hinted at a squeek or a rattle. In fact, I thought that was what Jap cars were famed for, i.e. no rattles or squeeks due to excellent build quality/workmanship despite extensive use of plastics?

CREAKS FROM STI8
does anyone have an annoying squeak from the rear of the car?
it seems to happen when you go over rough surfaces and different cambers. At first i thought it might be the rear spoiler, but cannot pinpoint it.
any suggestion will be more than welcomed.
