Pete,

Interesting picture, cheers.

When is the scoobysport wrc2000 engine conversion coming out? Do you need any beta testers?

Question

Can anyone tell me what those large carbon fibre cones are for? They look like they join up with the bonnet vents, sorry for being a bit thick

major supposition here, i seem to recall being told they are to draw the air up from oil coolers on the inner wings, and out of the bonnet vents, as hot air rises ?

I am really confident about this season.
I think the Scoobies can really pull it off.
Makes the Focus' excuse about it being 'new' look pathetic.
Let's hope it stays this way.

The carbon units are to suck the air away from the intercooler, so keeping the rest of the engine bay cool.

The box where our intercoolers are is the air intake (note the panel filter ).

Interesting modifications to the suspension turrets.

Cool

I suspected that the scoop was being used as the air intake... Wow, that looks like a motorcycle-like ram air induction concept... Wonder how they will fit snorkels for the more extreme events? Can they change the bonnet? Too many questions...

Er... as for its performance, after SS7 there is 58 seconds between 2nd and 10th, with burnsy 41 seconds clear of 2nd.

That's seriously quick

Unfortunately Juha crashed at the end of SS3.

Talking

very neat, i agree with pete on the purpose of the funnels. the airbox looks nothing special to me, looks like thay have concentrated on keeping hot air out of the intake charge.

The engine will be less laggy with the intercooler mounted where it is due to shorter pipe runs.

seems they are also aiming at reducing the polar moment of inertia, that is move everything towards the middle of the car.

burnsey was flying this morning but has dropped back due to stearing problems, we should see how quick it realy is tommorow when he has to attack, cant wait.

Just a silly question, BUT could we all use the foam to protect the intercooler, or would this just melt?

The intercooler is the big shiny thing at the front of the engine, thats the air filter on top of the engine ????
