Take the finest sand paper you can find, treat the spot till there are no deep scratches anymore.
Then use a paint stich or spray for repairing the spot.
You can also consider a treat with a primer...

I did it with my bumper, same spot as you have, and you must take a very good look to see were it is now...

Just be patient and do it better slow and good than fast and crappy

i don't think it's worth giving **£ to a paint shop for such a minor spot...

Oh, and first, use a very good polish to remove the fine scratches.
Maybe the it looks not as bad as it is now....

I don't think you should be that expert to spray it without tape.
But also don't tape it to tight, leave an area about 1 inch around the mark
You can spray it out on the edges, and also use a clear laquer to seal it. Then let it dry for at least 6 hours, better heat it up a litlle, like in a real paintshop.
Then you can use a wax to soften the the spot and remove the so called spray dust,
Keep in mind that spray-paint is very airborne so you better cover the whole car, especially the roof and bonnet.
Remember to work very carefull, don't rush things, spray in several layers, but apply the clear laquer when the final layer of paint is still wet, than you have a better result...
And when you work in a garage, wet the floor and don't make lots of dust when you're painting...

Creepy...

Here in Belgium, the insurance sucks. I have a full covering but when I have things like this I repair them myself.
The point is, when you have severe damage, like an attempt of stealing, or a crash... the insurance will pay. But if you claim several little things, they can throw you out, and than you have a serious problem to re-insure your car, at a much higher price then.

Better make it a good sunday-in-the-sun job.

Keep me informed about the result here;..

Creepy.
