Air filter
#1
I know there will be many mixed opions on this but who suggests what air filter for their scoob?
Or alternativly, anyone know of an old threwad they can point to?
Also will a cone type filter give me the actuator flutter noise?
Cheers
Chris

ITG panel filter seems a popular choice( I have one, seems fine, not really sure if the power gain is much, maybe a bit of extra noise)
cant comment on an induction kit, you have to be carefull you dont suck hot engine air in, thus dropping you power rather than gain.
also some talk about sensor issues, but not sure what they are.

Most panel filters will be fine on your car, if fitting an oil based filter try leaving over night on some kitchen towel to remove any excess oils. 'Some' beleive that Induction kits can lead to MAF failure due to the more aggressive air flow, although many, many people on here have run Induction kits for 15-20000 miles plus without problem, whereas young Tonys P1 blew two in 500 miles. It seems that predominantly 99-00 cars perhaps came with more fragile MAFs.
Nether will really give you wastegate flutter, but a strongly springed Recirc valve would help.
