Did Subaru UK forget to install the PPP in the demo car! The article compares EVO 8 and STi 8 with PPP. The EVO only has 276 bhp but the STi has PPP so should have 300. The times do not seem to stack up I am considering both cars at the moment and as I am a scooby fan was starting to favour the STi over the EVO especially with the PPP. However this test makes me think again, does the PPP results vary from car to car and therefore account for the difference between Subaru published fiqures and those shown here?

0-60 Evo = 4.9 STi = 5.3
0-100 Evo = 13.2 STi = 13.9

In gear times seem to be better in the EVO as well even though BHP and torque are down on the EVO.

Yes I noticed this. However if you look at The Times from last week (Clarkson Review) the figures are the other way round...and it might even be the same cars...so when I get home I'll have a look.

Car Mag, May issue gives the Evo at 5.3 secs to 62, and the STi at 4.6 (approx, it says!).

I guess that means they didn't bother to strap the test equipment on.....

The Evo is to one that's been doing the rounds in the mags recently - WU 52 UGY. It's also in today's Autocar.

The STi is BG 52 ZJY.

Oh, and today's Autocar got a 0-60 of 4.8 secs for the Evo, with a standing quarter of 13.5 secs at 103 mph....

More importantly for some is the fact that the EVO 8 was 4 seconds a lap quicker round the TG track than the STI8.

More importantly for others was the fact TG said the STI was more thrilling 90% of the time and a better overall car.

Has anyone other than Prodrive/Subaru UK had the 0 to 60 time of 4.6?

Edited to say its BG52 ZHO in Top Gear, is this a different test car then or a typo on your part?

which mags were this evo in, does anyone know? Just had a mate forward me a picture of a mag it was in, as the evo was my first evo and I'd heard it had been featured but didn't know where.
