The scratches are dead straight and look to be caused by something scraping the glass within the door.
Either that or birds are ****ting in straighter lines round here!

Just read your thread i was about to post one asking if anyone could help me as my front windows have alot of scratches on them cause is definetly the window runner or part of the mechanism as you can see that they are at the same angle as the window drops down like you say as it dont go down straight it goes sorta down and forward.
Does anyone have a cure to stop this from happeing in the future or is it just a really common problem as im new to the world of scoobies only had mine since very late last year and still learning alot.lol
cheers

If you ease the doorskin back slightly and peer down the gap the window runs down, you'll see (as I have) there are small brushes up against the glass.
These fill with grit and scratch the window as it runs up and down.
I used a rubber door stopper, and prised the glass entry point apart. I then used a toothbrush soaked in car shampoo to brush/clean these brushes. (my car was out of warranty).
They've been great since. I'll have to do them again this spring. Beware though, the brushes take AGES to dry out and will probably streak your windows with water for weeks to come.

i just scratched my passenger window the other day when i lowered passenger window on lunch, the only thing that was different was fact i hadnt engaged the locks so i dunno if this maybe a factor, as well i dont usually open them on that side much anyway! I did spray with silicon/rubber lubricant so it wood at least move a bit freer/quicker but as i say only seemed 2 do it when lock was in open position, yes i did keep trying just 2 satisfy my curiosity till a nice big scratch lol
