PRICE FOR MY97
#1
The time has come and I must soon part with my beloved Scooby. Could anyone suggest what sort of price I could expect for a Mica Blue MY97 (R reg),4 door, 27000 miles (Standard UK Spec + Air Con.)- Private and Trade prices.

Hi,
Given the Scooby's reputation for durability why is their value destroyed when you are only talking about 40k miles on a '97 car?
Are there really that many very low mileage cars for sale?
Cheers,
Alex

Alex,
If you got £14k for it you would still have only lost around 33pct in 3 years, thats still great compared to most marques - which lose closer to 50pct, even mercedes whose build is superior to subaru . All we are seeing now is supply catching up with demand - there are alot of imports around now and once the car is 3 years old there isn't alot of difference between an import and an official UK car - the warranty issues disapear.
I recently sold my 97 catalunya and couldn't get a dealer bid over £15.5k so I am painfully aware of the current situation.
Still, it makes the nearly new ones cheaper - good for me as I'm now driving a MY99.
Cheers and good luck Kimbo
