The time has come and I must soon part with my beloved Scooby. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif Could anyone suggest what sort of price I could expect for a Mica Blue MY97 (R reg),4 door, 27000 miles (Standard UK Spec + Air Con.)- Private and Trade prices.

Cheers

I'd suggest maybe 14k for trade, and add another thousand or so for a private sale.

At the Scoobie dealer getting a service last Saturday the sales guy reckoned I could get just under £14K for my MY96, Prodrive Performance Pack, 4-door in Jap. Racing Green.

I wasn't selling - just chatting.

Hi,

Given the Scooby's reputation for durability why is their value destroyed when you are only talking about 40k miles on a '97 car?

Are there really that many very low mileage cars for sale?

Cheers,

Alex

Alex,
If you got £14k for it you would still have only lost around 33pct in 3 years, thats still great compared to most marques - which lose closer to 50pct, even mercedes whose build is superior to subaru . All we are seeing now is supply catching up with demand - there are alot of imports around now and once the car is 3 years old there isn't alot of difference between an import and an official UK car - the warranty issues disapear.

I recently sold my 97 catalunya and couldn't get a dealer bid over £15.5k so I am painfully aware of the current situation.
Still, it makes the nearly new ones cheaper - good for me as I'm now driving a MY99.
Cheers and good luck Kimbo

Sold mine for 13.5 a couple of weeks ago (MY97 P Reg 5dr with 51K miles and aircon, 16" Speedlines with fairly new SO2's) through a scoob dealer as part ex on a MY00

Check out similar spec to yours without air con:
