Just been doing some sums after 2 years of bug-eyed ownership!

car 21000
mods+servicing 3000
2 yrs insurance 2700
petrol 20K@20MPG@82ppl 3700
--------
30400

Probably being optimistic/daft @ £14K now with selling mods separately!

So £16400 gone in 104 weeks = £157 pw!!!

Tis only money though!

Smile factor? Priceless !

Proved that one today when I saw a stickered up WRX 02 coming onto the roundabout just one car behind me. Looked out the window, saw the guy behind the wheel waiting to get on the 'bout, gave him a big number one finger sign - the smile on the geezer's face and those of his family was ear-to-ear. A magic moment and I've not done that or had it done to me in any car other than a scoob.

BEW - if you should happen to pass some maniac during the week of Easter this year in either a Beamer or a Pug and they are waving at you and flashing lights and shouting "SCOOBIE!!!"...it's only me and mine at me sisters for a wee break!

Tis why i sold mine and bought a more specialised toy a westy for weekends and a cheep run around for work, as a result im much MUCH better off, and the westy put far more smiles on my face than my scoob ever did (personal preference)

Not the rout for everyone but worth considering, winter obviously means limited use, but i have hade enough weekend track days in my westy to keep me happy.

I've had my Evo a year and have logged all costs associated with mods and servicings (no cost of the car or petrol or insurance or anything) and with reasonably modest mods (alright ECU and that, around 350bhp) I've spent over £10k and haven't even done s0d all to it this year.

Dunno where all the money goes and, more to the point, I dunno where it comes from either!

Mine is like that of late, especially in this sh1tty weather. I have to make a conscious effort to start it up and take it for a spin once a week when it's nice and dry!
