Parcelforce won't do over 30kg. Most of the others need an account. Christian Salvesen will do a pallet up to 500 kg !! for £77+VAT.

Group buy on engine deliveries anyone

Cant you just remove some part to bring it down to 30kg and then post the rest?

Try amtrak,
most reasonable and reliable, i have sent boxed up computers back and forth from ayr to aberdeen for £20, they work on volume rather than weight, so give them a shout.

TNT will do it quite reasonably,I use them all the time for machinery up to about 70kg. Box it rather than put it on a pallet to avoid (expensive) pallet charges.

Thanks Amtrak are most flexible on pricing and weight limits. It is in a wooden crate, will check if they mind. Much more secure and easier to pick up this way. £28.50 all in

my engine got delivered on night freight aswell, i imagine it aint to much with them...

AMTRAK will only take up to 25KG unless you have sufficient loading equipment, although the drivers can be flexible, depending on thier moods.

failing that, how far you gotta take it? organise a day out!! we once delivered a boat engine, by hand, to the south of spain, but we had a 3 week holiday while we was at it!!!

You could split it, but that's a pain.

Best to mount it on plywood base, but then put the whole thing in a cardboard box so they don't give you hassle for it being on a pallet.

John,

Just rang Omega for you (thats who we use, seem to be a very reliable service) and if the engine is upto 32KG then its an all inclusive of £26.32 for next day delivery.

E-mail me if you want further details.

Cheers

I wanted to split the block and remove the crank but JB was too keen to send it off ASAP .I think he is desperate to start testing the new gear kit .
